Said to be one of the most populated cities of the world, Tokyo serves as the capital of Japan. The first place that any tourist in the city of Tokyo wants to visit is the Imperial Palace. Once inside the palace, you will feel as if you have been transported to a different place. The calm and quiet inside is almost unbelievable, given the hustle and bustle of the city. While you are here, you can pick up a souvenir from near the Imperial Palace. You might even get a chance to see the Imperial Guards practicing the kendo. You can take the Tokyo Metro after your tour of the Imperial Palace, in order to visit the Sensoji Temple.

The Sensoji Temple is one of the most important places of worship in the city. You can make use of the Kaminarimon or the Thunder Gate to enter the temple. It is a Buddhist temple that was made in the 7th century. On your way to the temple is the Nakamise-dori, a pedestrian street where vendors can be found selling various snacks as well as jewelry. You must also pay a visit to the much-respected Shinto shrine in the city. It is known as the Meiji Shrine. The shrine is located inside a forest that is situated in the heart of the city. Apart from the museums, the park in itself is extremely beautiful, lined with cherry trees. Walking around the park, you will also come across several pagodas, temples, and shrines. The park also has a pond. You can take your children to the Ueno Zoo, where your kids can look at the giant pandas.

Attending a sumo match is also a must for any tourist visiting Tokyo. If you visit the city in the month of January, May, or September, you can watch the two-week long Basho or sumo tournaments. While you are in this city, you must also try the Sushi.
