Vanuatu

Vanuatu is an archipelago that lies in the southwest of the Pacific Ocean, to the north of New Zealand and east of Australia. It is made up of 83 beautiful islands and formerly known as New Hebrides Islands.

The islands of Vanuatu are blessed with a very tropical climate that makes it a popular destination among many westerners. It is perfectly hot and humid in the northern region while folks down south experience mild and dry weather.

Rain is experienced on the islands all year round, although in different volumes. Cyclones are also natural occurrences for which both locals and tourists must be ready. These phenomena are expected to happen more frequently during the months of December, January, February and March. Foreign visitors need not worry about their safety as long as they strictly follow the guidelines and instructions set by the local government.

Tourists are abundant in the island from July to December, while January to June are considered off-peak months. During this time, airline tickets are usually on sale and accommodations in the island have become more affordable.
The beaches are the most common destinations in this group of islands and every shoreline showcases a breathtaking view of the sea. Summer sports such as beach volleyball are fun to engage in during the day time and at night the beaches are transformed into hot party venues.

When planning a trip to Vanuatu, it is important to make sure that you and your companions are immune to common diseases like hepatitis A and B and typhoid fever, which may be contacted while on the island. It is therefore advised that you get vaccinated before going on the trip. Except in Port Vila, malaria may be widespread in some areas of Vanuatu. Better secure insect repellants and do other precautions before exploring outside the capital city.
