Santorini, a Small Cluster of Islands

Santorini is a small cluster of islands that were formed due to volcanic eruption some 3,600 years ago and are located in the south section of Aegean Sea. Santorini is about 200 km from Greece’s mainland and it is a destination that is world famous and attracts thousands of visitors to spend their vacation. Santorini is parts of the Cycladic group of islands. The best part while visiting this section of the island is to take a long ferry services and enjoy the natural scenic beauty. A lot of flights travel to Santorini City during the summer season. Legendary stories say that Santorini is a place where the civilization of Atlantis once lived.

The city is actually remains of the volcanic eruption that erupted some 3,600 years ago. However, it has lead to a beautiful, peaceful city with a dynamic and explosive night life. This is one of the spots that you would never forget because it has a mixture of all: fun, adventure, nature, peace and beauty.

Santorini has 3 islands. On one side, you can view the villages that look very close to a fresh oil painting view. This part of the city is highly commercial and generates maximum revenues for the entire island. The second one is the town of Perissa, where you can find black sand beached full of tourists all over. The third part of the city is what is called the Akotiri; these are the ruins of the Minoan Period. This part is also known as the archeology site. However, it is not very famous among the tourists.
